Ready to Read at New York Libraries is a public library staff development program designed to enable all New York public libraries to improve the quality of their early learning services. The program is comprised of five components:
Early Literacy Community Asset Analysis (ELCAA)
Every Child Ready to Read 2
Strategies for Successful Partnerships and Outreach to Families with Young Children
Early Learning Spaces
Everyone Serves Families with Young Children
The Ready to Read trainings will be held within the North Country Library System over the next few years. Check the NCLS continuing education brochure for training dates or contact Angela Newman for more information.
In addition to the staff development courses, the NYS Library has developed the Day by Day Early Literacy Calendar for families. Check it out, and feel free to link to it from your library website!
