Thousand Islands Book Festival

The Thousand Islands Book Festival is coming up next week.

It's called Reading on the River and Angela Newman talked about it on 7 News This Morning.

It will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 6 at Cape Vincent Elementary School.

Several popular children's authors will be on hand.

Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

North Country voters support our libraries!

Congratulations to the libraries who had successful referendums yesterday!  Voters approved over $232,000 in additional public funding to 20 of our member libraries. 

Below is the list of the libraries who went out to vote yesterday with their approved increases and the percentage approval for each vote.  Way to go BVF, DEX, and CAN for increasing your school ballot funding by over 50%!

Sowing the Seeds of Learning at Depauville Free Library

They are sowing the seeds of learning at Depauville Free Library - for all ages. 

When six-year old Lyra Chase saw the packets of seeds in the card catalogs, instead of cards, had questions.

"What? Why is there seeds?  This is a library, not a seed place," she said.

Now, it's actually both, making the library unique in the north country.
