Apr 27, 2017 — Agnes Hoey is soft-spoken and a little reluctant to talk - that is, unless you get her going on libraries. She says libraries are vital to small towns because they are the community, growing and changing with the places they serve.
Agnes manages two libraries for the Canton Free Library, one in Rensselaer Falls and one in Morley, but is quick to say that:
"No two libraries are the same. I have two branches and they are so different. I wasn't quite aware how different they would be when I started here - but they are different. The books that I order are different for each one and the things that we do and even where we put them on the shelves is different, because different people are coming in."
