New York State Assistant Commissioner for Libraries and State Librarian Bernard A. Margolis announced today that the Board of Regents approved amendments to the Commissioner’s Regulations 90.12 and 90.18 regarding libraries during their July 17, 2017 meeting. The regulations included changes regarding State Aid for Library Construction to allow architect and engineering fees to be submitted as eligible expenses for new and ongoing projects. Architect and engineering fees for feasibility studies remain an ineligible expense.
Due to low enrollment, the fifth class in the Ready to Read at New York Libraries series (Everyone Serves Families with Young Children) scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, has been cancelled. Libraries can request to have this workshop conducted at their site from now through November if there are at least five participants from the requesting library. Contact Angela for details.
