Work Group Roundup 6/1/20

County:

POLICIES/REOPENING PROCEDURES

Just a reminder to directors that NCLS will need to make some modifications to your ILS configurations as libraries reopen. Even if you’ve talked to Pam or Heather please fill out the survey with your preferences so we have all of this data in one place.

IMPROVING DIGITAL SERVICES

The Help Desk needs your help! As many of our libraries begin to prepare for curbside pickup, one way staff can support each other is by signing up for a shift on the Help Desk to assist patrons who need help placing holds. The Help Desk is open from 9am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday - sign up for a shift here!

SHARED ONLINE PROGRAMMING

The Shared Online Programming group is polling libraries from the four counties about their interest in participating in county specific Facebook pages.  Work is still underway on an North County Libraries shared page.  With many committee members returning to their libraries on Monday, work on the shared page may be on hold for a little while!

NEW SERVICE MODELS AND PARTNERSHIPS

The New Service Models & Community Partnerships Committee has decided to focus our efforts on the story walk idea. We have created a survey for everyone to fill out and would like everyone to fill it out even if they don't plan to participate.  We also have a question asking if people have existing storywalks people would be willing to loan out to other libraries.  We plan to list our story walk locations on the SRP calendar and on our websites so that if someone enjoys them they can head to other locations.

SUMMER READING

The Summer Reading page of the Virtual Branch is now live! Look for instructions soon on how enter your virtual programming into the events calendar...
