RA for your Friday 7/6/18

New month, new lists!

Barnes and Noble is here with the latest in Fiction, Mysteries, Thrillers, History, and Biographies, while Lit Hub, CrimeReads, and SBTB share their picks for July. (Looking for more Best of July lists? Book Pulse has got you covered from Amazon to Vulture.)

Meanwhile, Library Journal is putting a spotlight on horror this month, and Book Riot is ready to help you put together your Libraries Rock! display with this list of 50 Must-Read Books About Music.

Being responsive to patron demand is a vital part of collection development, but it's also important to take a chance on new authors that your patrons may never have discovered it it weren't for the library! Check out these new and upcoming debut novels compiled by Library Journal.

And finally, #FridayReads: One of my favorite things about reading is the way one book leads to another - case in point, God Save Texas led me in a straight line to Molly Ivins, whose collection of columns You Got to Dance with Them What Brung You is currently on my nightstand. In my earbuds, though, I've got Don't Make Me Pull Over: An Informal History of the Family Road Trip. Happy reading/listening!
