RA for your Friday 1/24/20

Not too much to report this week, but I couldn't leave you hanging until the beginning of February, could I? (Answer: I could not.)

It's ALA Midwinter this weekend, which means there's a big ol' Galley Guide to check out. Not going to ALA? Guess what? Becky Spratford from the RA for All blog is here to remind us:

"Each time there is a conference, Library Journal puts together a Galley Guide, a list of all of the ARCs you can expect to find at the conference. Here's the thing though, these guides are actually more useful to those left behind or to access and consult after attendees return..."

Speaking of ALA Midwinter, don't forget to tune into the Youth Media Awards on Monday.

For all you mystery fans out there, the Edgar nominations have been announced!

We've got the February LibraryReads and IndieNext lists, and BookPage has weighed in on the books to look out for in 2020.

Keep tabs on the literary adaptations of 2020 with these lists from the CBC and Lit Hub.

Finally, #FridayReads: Just finished up Lost Hills by Lee Goldberg (come for the investigation, stay for the characterization) and I will definitely be looking for more of his work. That being said, my nightstand is currently empty. And I mean empty. Like, some dust and a single bobby pin. So, I'm going to leave room for serendipity this weekend and see what catches my eye. Happy reading!
