Weeding is essential for the health of every library collection. Not only does it remove materials that are outdated or in poor condition, but it also makes browsing easier, boosts your circulation statistics, and makes room for new items. And the best way to get great at weeding is to do it! A short presentation on best practices for deselection and disposal will be followed by participants rolling up their sleeves and help the hosting library weed what they’ve identified as the most high-need areas of their collection. It’s experiential and helping your neighbor all rolled into one.
Please note the time is from 9:00 am to 11:00 am for this training session.
