The heroin and opioid epidemic that our communities are currently experiencing has become a startling reality that community institutions simply cannot ignore.  Libraries are not exempt from this and many have already been dealing with the effects of the drug crisis.

Please join us for an informational presentation for all library staff presented by a representative from the Jefferson County Drug Task Force.  The Task Force is made up of law enforcement, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office, school administration and community members.

The program includes information on drug recognition and recognition of symptoms of impairment. Information about the current drug laws will also be provided, as well as proper protocol on handling drugs in the library or drug-impaired patrons.  There will also be a question and answer session, so come prepared with your questions.
