RA for your Friday 7/21/17

Not very much time for RA today, since I spent most of my day helping a library weed their collection. And in case you weren't aware that's something I'm willing to do, I am. And in case you weren't aware that it's something I LOVE TO DO, it is. So, today's RA news will be short and sweet. Let's kick it off with a display I received from Croghan on the Civil Rights Act:

Architect and Engineering Fees as Eligible Construction Expenses!

New York State Assistant Commissioner for Libraries and State Librarian Bernard A. Margolis announced today that the Board of Regents approved amendments to the Commissioner’s Regulations 90.12 and 90.18 regarding libraries during their July 17, 2017 meeting.  The regulations included changes regarding State Aid for Library Construction to allow architect and engineering fees to be submitted as eligible expenses for new and ongoing projects.  Architect and engineering fees for feasibility studies remain an ineligible expense.

CLASS CANCELLED

Due to low enrollment, the fifth class in the Ready to Read at New York Libraries series (Everyone Serves Families with Young Children) scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, has been cancelled. Libraries can request to have this workshop conducted at their site from now through November if there are at least five participants from the requesting library. Contact Angela for details.
