Spotlight on Yvonne Reff

From The Frozen Librarian:

The Watertown Daily Times recently did a lovely piece on the new director at Flower Memorial Library, which I missed completely. Not surprisingly. I might be handy with a road map and good at Jeopardy, but otherwise, quite a lot gets past me.

But a blog interview with aforementioned new director was NOT gonna get past me, especially since I know the lady personally and she has helped me move my couch. Without further delay, then, my chat with Yvonne Reff.

Help promote e-resources at your library!

Tis the season...for people to receive phones, tablets, and e-readers as gifts! And since our libraries offer e-books, e-audio, and e-magazines, NCLS will be sending out material to help you promote these resources to patrons. You'll be receiving the following flyers in your delivery, but feel free to print out your own or upload to your website:

Children's e-book flyer (PDF)

Young adult e-book flyer (PDF)

Matt Corey will also be providing customized shelftalkers to help promote Zinio, so expect to hear from him within the next few weeks.

And, remember, you can always visit the NCLS E-media page if your patrons need help with their devices.

Happy Holidays!

Emma Flower Taylor’s Signed Childhood Biography is Now Home at the Library

Last week, Watertown resident Doris Bennet donated an autobiographical book written and signed by Emma Flower Taylor to the Flower Memorial Library. The Flower Memorial library was erected in 1904 by Emma Flower Taylor in memory of her father, Roswell P. Flower.

Flower Memorial Library's own Reference Librarian, Yvonne Reff, is particularly fond of the library's history and provides insight about this book in a recent Watertown Daily Times Article.
